Apple recently launched two new iPad tablets; one called iPad and the other iPad Pro. It is quite odd to see the Cupertino-based multinational company terming the seventh generation iPad as that despite being a predecessor to iPad Pro. In fact, both iPad tablets feature the eye-catchy Retina Display of Apple. The iPad Pro screen size is approximately twenty percent larger than the seventh generation iPad, even though both were released in subsequent months.
The iPad 9.7 Release Reveals
Apple chose the spring season to release the iPad even as Chinese imitators release Android models throughout seasons. To Apple’s credit, the gadgets were made available to tablet lovers in the US the next day through the company website. However, it did take a month’s time for the iPad 2017 to get a worldwide release.
The seventh generation iPad offers tablet users three colors choices: Silver, Gold, and Space Gray. As usual, the iPad 2017 model has two color bezels too; one with black and the other one white. Below are the reveals on launch.
- 32 GB plus Wi-Fi for $329
- 32 GB/Wi-Fi plus Cellular for $459
- 128 GB/Wi-Fi for $429
- 128 GB/Wi-Fi plus Cellular for $559
We know that Apple segregates the iPad tablets and other gadgets as per the features, especially the onboard storage. This time also, Apple had not spring any big surprises in price differentiation but subsequent release strategy.
The iPad of Gen-Next Tablet User
It would seem the seventh generation iPad is in the middle of a tug of war between Android tablets, refurbished tablets, and iPad Pro released in June. The first impressions will not let down a tech-savvy tablet lover though the number of refurbished iPads throws the ball back to their court.
The below spec sheet based comparison would help tablet patrons choose among the two iPads being released subsequently.
|iPad 2017||iPad Pro|
|Display||9.7 inch||10.5 inch|
|Resolution||2048 × 1536||2224 × 1668|

The iPad Pro is available in Rose Gold, bundled Apple Pen, and Smart Keyboard. However, the iPad Pro models come at twice the price as that of iPad 2017.
